“Our life consists of countless rituals”

À l’occasion de son exposition « carte blanche » au Musée d’Art et d’Histoire de Genève (MAH), Jakob Lena Knebl proposait une scénographie réinterprétant les collections du musée au travers d’installations monumentales, certaines faites de tissus satinés. L’Atelier Valenthier était en charge d’y ajouter, de manière inventive et intégrative, les textes de l’artiste et commissaire. C’est au moyen d’impressions sur des objets surdimensionnés en tissu qu’il a choisi de mettre en valeur les œuvres de chaque salle, avec la volonté de créer une mise en abîme unique des contenus. Les objets on été conçus spécialement par une styliste de Lausanne, en collaboration avec Valenthier.

On the occasion of his “carte blanche” exhibition at the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire de Genève (MAH), Jakob Lena Knebl proposed a scenography reinterpreting the museum’s collections through monumental installations, some of them with satin fabrics. The Atelier Valenthier was responsible for adding, in an inventive and integrative way, the texts of the artist and curator. It was by means of prints on oversized fabric objects that he chose to highlight the works in each room, with the intention of creating a unique mise en abyme of the contents. The objects were specially designed by a Lausanne-based designer in collaboration with Valenthier.
